… is totally acceptable as long as you’re wearing your finest jewels.
These photos by Terry Richardson have been favorites of mine for a long time. Cupcakes and diamonds are a pretty unbeatable combination.

Summer = braids. There’s nothing worse than being hot with your hair stuck in your face- especially if your hair gets as out of control as mine. I’ve been looking around for cute, new braid ideas so I can switch it up. There’s even a Flickr group dedicated totally to braids. Here are some of my faves:

To catch up, to live for a moment in unision with it, that was the miracle.”

Everything you hear people say about the south of France is true. It was beautiful and wonderful and I can’t wait to share more pictures from the trip. And I can’t wait to go back.
But now I need things like sleep, clean clothes and major Harlow time.

It’s sinking in that I’m going to be leaving my precious pup for a whole week and it’s making me sad and nervous.
I know, last year I left her for 10 days while I was in England. But she was just 1 year old then. Now that she’s 2 years old I obviously love her twice as much.
My sweet friend (and former babysittee), Bailey, is going to come over during the day to play with and walk her. And so will my sister and her dog. And she’ll sleep at my mom’s house so she’ll get to play with her bff – my mom’s husky, Kiah. I have such great friends and family and apparently they have so much fun stuff planned for her that she probably won’t even miss me.
But you know, I’ll worry anyway.

You know whose blog I love right now? (Okay just not right now but for a long time) Melisa’s blog – The Lil Bee.
I mean she’s just really awesome. And her little baby girl is pretty stinking cute too.
You should check out her Target photo shoots and how she amazingly dropped her baby weight and of course her Feather Report.

I love airports. Even if I have to hang out there for a few hours I generally don’t mind it because it’s the start of something fun. It’s an excuse to eat McDonald’s, people watch and watch movies on my laptop. All good stuff.
But the part about traveling I still haven’t figured out is what to wear on the plane. I’ve done jeans/flip flops/hoodies. I’ve done long comfy dresses, I’ve done sweatpants and tshirts, I’ve done skirts/sandals/sweaters…
and it all ends up the same. I get off the plane looking like a used dish rag.
Even if I make a pit stop in the ladies’ before I leave the airport I still can’t seem to get it together after a 12 hour flight. And yet somehow I’m always on a plane full of people (men and women) who look like they’re about to be in a commercial for ice cold milk or Ivory soap or something.
Don’t even get me started on what to pack…
So what do you wear when you fly?
The other night I couldn’t sleep so I was browsing iTunes looking for something to spend my gift card on when I discovered My So Called Life were available. I blame the lack of sleep but I couldn’t resist!
So I give you the best moment ever. I love this song by Buffalo Tom too…
I’ve been on a packing/tossing/organizing kick lately and I came across my first grade journal. Such a treasure! If my scanner wasn’t being so disagreeable I’d scan a few pages for you.
I had quite an array of intrests…
I wrote about my cats: Cinderella and Tequila.
I wrote about the time my mom made cookies and forgot the sugar. I can still remember thinking this was the most hilarious thing EVER.
I wrote about my imaginary trip to Disneyland.
I wrote that when I grew up I was going to be a “rockstar, cop and ballerina”. I guess even back then I was all about balance.
I wrote about my “husband” and where that we were going to live in a “pink house with lots of good stuff”.
It was fun to look back through the pages written in big colorful crayon letters. Right now being a rockstar/ballerina/cop sounds like a lot of work though so I’m going to take a nap.
